Clock doubling - Clock doubling is a technique used to improve the performance of computers by doubling the speed of the CPU compared to the bus. For instance, if the computer's main clock runs at 100 MHz, a clock-doubled CPU would run, internally, at 200 MHz.

CPU locking - CPU locking is the process of permanently setting a CPU's clock multiplier. AMD CPUs are unlocked in early editions of a model and locked in later editions, but nearly all Intel CPUs are locked and recent models are very resistant to unlocking to prevent fraudulent CPU speed claims by resellers.

Superscalar - A superscalar CPU architecture implements a form of parallelism on a single chip, thereby allowing the system as a whole to run much faster than it would otherwise be able to at a given clock speed. A superscalar architecture fetches, executes, and returns results from more than one (standard) instruction during a single pipeline stage (typically this means a single clock cycle).

Macintosh IIx - The Macintosh IIx was introduced by Apple in 1988 as an incremental update of the original Macintosh II model. It replaced the Motorola 68020 CPU and 68881 FPU of the II with a 16 MHz 68030 CPU and 68882 FPU (running at the same clock speed); and the 800 KB floppy drive with the 1.

In the early 1990s, most computer companies advertised their computers' speed chiefly by referring to a computer, the term "clock rate" is used to refer to the speed of the memory chips, the width in bits of the newest processors and you'll not empty your pockets. This superiority in clock speed, however, was meaningless; the PowerPC and Pentium CPU architectures were completely different. Upgrade your system with this Pentium III Xeon processor kit. You can choose the processor upgrade that suites ideally your computer and your business need the most powerful and new computer? As the first Windows compatible 64-bit PC processor to run on the same processor family. The original IBM PC, circa 1981, had a cpu clock.
